Tasting Panel Honors O.H. Ingram Straight Rye with 94 Point Rating

In March’s issue of Tasting Panel Magazine’s Senior Editor Anthony Dias Blue rates Ingram River Aged Rye 94 points.  In each issue Blue selects a wide range of the best wines and spirits from 500+ samples he receives that month. These reviews including this whiskey rating, are subjective editorial evaluations. Additionally, they are made without regard to advertising, and products are scored on a 100-point scale.

Soft amber color and smooth aromas of spice. Creamy, layered, and elegant, with sweet, lush flavors of vanilla, oak, treacle, cinnamon, and caramel; long and lovely.

94 Points “Very Smitten”

River-aged barrels are exposed to the drastic rise and fall of the water’s temperatures; the constant friction of the water keeps the vessels in motion, aiding the maturation process for a minimum of three years. This rye-based 96-proofer features aromas of tangerine and butterscotch that lead to a silky palate coated with notes of crème brûlée, papaya, dried apricot, and pine nuts. The long finish brings forth key lime pie and graham cracker crust.
